Fountain

This is for the "woven painting" project. My subject/theme is the mythical fountain of youth. For the first watercolor I used predominately yellow with some green, the second was predominately red with some purple. Weaving the two straightforwardly did not work out well for me, so I cut out unequal strips of various length and wove those. I think the end result is passable but not spectacular (which is fine by me. I did not like this project very much).

  1. i really like this piece. the colors are so beautiful & the design idea was unique! I would have liked it on black paper so that you could see the image a little better but over all it works well together. great job!

  2. I agree with Makay, I think putting the woven papers on a black background would have been better. However, I like how you have to look at the left group of papers for at least a minute or so before you realize where the fountain really is. I know you got frustrated several times during the process, but I think that frustration paid off. :)

  3. Taylor,
I think you did a great job in your technique with water color and I like your pastel colors. I agree with the girls above about the back ground, but I don't know if black would be too harsh. I really like how your piece is abstract and based on color.
